Hudson Yards and the High Line

 Hudson Yards and The Vessel

One of the newest NYC attractions is Hudson Yards, a multi-billion dollar complex of office buildings, residences, and an extremely high-end shopping mall complete with trendy eateries. The star of the show, though, is The Vessel, an interactive art installation that dares visitors to climb its honeycomb-like stairways. I'm not a big fan of heights, but even I couldn't resist.

The Yards, built over rail yards next to the Hudson River, is also the northernmost terminus of the High Line, a nearly two-mile-long greenway that used to be an old defunct elevated rail line. On a beautiful day—like the day we visited—the walkway is almost as crowded as Times Square!

And speaking of art, as soon as we got off the High Line we saw
a couple taping a long coloring "roll" on a wall. "Can anyone play?" I asked the woman.
"Yes," she said as she handed me a bunch of pens. A few
minutes later, 20 people had joined us and were coloring. So wonderful!
